KilnSlate Privacy Policy

Your studio library, pieces, test tiles, kiln loads, outcomes, audit history, imports, and derived facts remain on your device. The only online feature is feedback that you explicitly choose to submit.

Pottery data KilnSlate handles

KilnSlate stores the studio, clay, glaze, and kiln details you enter; piece names, forms, stages, notes, test-tile layers, shelves, placements, firing targets and actuals, witness-cone observations, outcomes, revisions, voids, restores, and imported backup fields. These facts are used only to maintain your private studio ledger.

Local storage

Your library and firing history are stored in KilnSlate's private app container on your iPhone or iPad. KilnSlate has no account, cloud sync, advertising, or analytics and does not upload this studio data to ApplyAI servers.

Backups, imports, and sharing

KilnSlate creates readable text, RFC 4180 CSV, and checksum-protected backups only when you request them. You choose where each file is saved or shared. An import is read only after you select it, then validated and previewed before local data is merged or replaced.

Optional feedback

If you submit in-app feedback, KilnSlate sends your message, optional email, selected screenshots, app version, operating-system version, device model, locale, and an App Attest security proof to ApplyAI support. We use this information only for support, defect investigation, abuse prevention, and app improvement.

Screenshots you choose

KilnSlate can access only images you explicitly select for feedback through Apple's system photo picker. Removing a screenshot or cancelling a draft requests deletion of uploaded draft images; unattached draft uploads are automatically deleted after 24 hours.

Diagnostics and App Attest

KilnSlate includes no third-party analytics or advertising SDK. App Attest supplies app-and-device integrity proof only for optional feedback abuse prevention and is not used for tracking across apps.

Paid App Store download

KilnSlate is a USD 0.99 paid download on the United States App Store, with Apple's equivalent prices in other regions. Apple completes the purchase before installation. The app has no in-app purchases, subscriptions, paywall, receipt handling, or transaction verification, so ApplyAI receives no purchase data from KilnSlate.

Retention and deletion

Local KilnSlate data remains until you clear the ledger, replace it with an import, or remove the app. Exported files remain wherever you choose to save them. Submitted feedback is retained only as reasonably necessary to reply, investigate defects, prevent abuse, and meet legal obligations.

Permissions

The core ledger needs no camera, contacts, location, microphone, notifications, broad photo-library, or account permission. Apple's system photo picker appears only when you choose feedback screenshots, so KilnSlate does not receive broad library access.

Factual records, not safety advice

KilnSlate records values and observations you enter. It does not provide kiln-operation, material, ventilation, fire, occupational-safety, or food-contact advice, recommendations, predictions, or certifications. Follow equipment and material manufacturers and qualified local guidance.

Policy changes

We may update this policy when KilnSlate or its data handling changes. The current version remains available on this page with a new revision date.
