Your apiaries, hives, inspections, factual actions, corrections, reminders, and derived facts stay on your device. The only network feature is feedback you choose to submit.

Private apiary inspection ledger
The short version
Apiary Data HiveSlate Handles
HiveSlate stores apiary and hive names, location notes, hive types, queen years and mark colors, tags, inspection observations, frame counts, colony-strength observations, food stores, temperament, swarm signs, anomalies, feeding, harvest, queen-change and equipment-move records, notes, corrections, reversals, and reminder dates that you enter. These facts are used only to organize and review your private field ledger; HiveSlate does not diagnose colony health or recommend treatment.
Local Storage
Your ledger and reminders are stored locally in HiveSlate's private app container on your iPhone or iPad. HiveSlate has no account, cloud sync, advertising, weather service, or analytics and does not upload apiary records to ApplyAI servers.
Backups, Imports, and Sharing
Readable text, hive CSV, and checksum-verified JSON backups are created only when you request them. You choose where to save or share each file. HiveSlate reads an import only after you select it, previews counts and conflicts, and validates its schema, checksum, references, and event rules before merging or replacing local records.
Optional Feedback
If you submit in-app feedback, HiveSlate sends your message, optional email address, selected screenshots, app version, operating-system version, device model, locale, and App Attest security proof to the ApplyAI support service. Apiaries, hives, events, reminders, and backups are not included. We use submitted information only for support, defect investigation, abuse prevention, and app improvement.
Selected Screenshots
HiveSlate can access only images you explicitly select with Apple's system photo picker for a feedback report. Removing or cancelling a feedback draft requests deletion of uploaded draft screenshots; unattached draft uploads are automatically removed after 24 hours.
Diagnostics and App Attest
HiveSlate includes no third-party analytics or advertising SDK. App Attest supplies app and device integrity evidence for optional feedback submissions and is used for abuse prevention, not cross-app tracking.
Paid App Store Download
HiveSlate is a USD 0.99 paid App Store download, with Apple-equivalent prices in other regions. Apple completes the purchase before installation. The app contains no in-app purchase, subscription, paywall, receipt, or transaction verification, so HiveSlate sends ApplyAI no purchase data.
Retention and Deletion
Local HiveSlate data remains until you clear it, replace it with an import, or remove the app. Exported files remain wherever you chose to save them. Submitted feedback is kept only as reasonably needed to respond, investigate defects, prevent abuse, and meet legal obligations.
Permissions
The core ledger requires no camera, contacts, location, microphone, photo-library, or account access. Notifications are requested only after you choose to schedule a local inspection reminder. Apple's system photo picker appears only when you choose a feedback screenshot, so HiveSlate does not receive broad photo-library access.
Children
HiveSlate is a general-audience productivity utility and is not directed to children. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children.
Policy Changes
We may update this policy when HiveSlate or its data practices change. The current version will remain available on this page with a revised update date.
