For iPhone and iPad

Privacy at a glance

Episode times, intensity, locations, symptoms, co-occurring factors, actions, and notes stay only on your device.
We collect, sell, share, and track no personal, health, device, or usage data.
You choose when to export, import, edit, delete, or permanently clear every local record.

Data the app handles

HeadSlate stores the episode start and end times, intensity, pain locations, symptoms, co-occurring factors, actions taken, and optional notes that you enter. It uses these records only to show your history and calculate descriptive 30- or 90-day facts on device.

Local storage only

All HeadSlate records and automatic recovery backups stay in the app's private container on your iPhone or iPad. HeadSlate has no account, cloud sync, server, advertising, analytics, subscription, or network client.

User-controlled exports and imports

Text summaries, CSV files, and validated JSON backups are created only when you request them. Apple's system share and file interfaces let you choose their destination or select an import. HeadSlate never uploads a file or keeps a server copy, and an import is validated before replacement.

No collection or tracking

HeadSlate includes no analytics, advertising, tracking, remote configuration, crash-reporting service, or third-party data-collection SDK. We receive no headache, health, note, app-usage, device, or diagnostic data.

No sensitive permissions

HeadSlate does not request access to HealthKit, location, contacts, calendar, camera, microphone, photos, notifications, or motion data. System file and share interfaces appear only after you explicitly choose an import or export action.

Not medical guidance

HeadSlate records and summarizes facts you enter. It does not diagnose a condition, identify triggers or causes, predict an episode, recommend treatment, or replace advice from a qualified health professional. Seek professional or emergency help when appropriate.

Editing and deletion

You can edit or delete individual episodes and use the two-step Clear All Data action to remove all entries and local backups. Deleting HeadSlate removes its private local container according to the operating system's standard behavior.

Children's privacy

HeadSlate is a general record-keeping utility and does not collect information from anyone, including children. It has no account, communication feature, advertising profile, or child-directed data collection.

On-device security

Records use iOS app sandboxing and file protection. Device passcodes and device backups remain under your and Apple's control. Protect exported files and import only backups from sources you trust.

Policy changes

If HeadSlate's features or data practices change, this page will be updated before a new practice takes effect. The latest revision date appears above.
