Your properties, surfaces, paint references, container balances, work history, and label photos stay on your device. The only network feature is feedback you choose to submit.

Private paint record

The short version

Your paint records and label photos are stored in the app's private container on your device.

Nothing is sent unless you deliberately submit feedback or share an export or backup.

You can edit, export, or permanently clear your local records whenever you choose.

Paint Data CoatLedger Handles

CoatLedger stores the properties, rooms, surfaces, paint brands, product lines, color names and codes, sheens, swatches, label photos, container capacities, batch details, storage locations, purchase dates, work records, contractor names, notes, and inventory adjustments that you enter. These records are used only to organize your paint history and remaining stock on your device.

Local Storage

Your paint library, work history, inventory ledger, and label photos are stored locally in CoatLedger's private app container on your iPhone or iPad. CoatLedger has no account, cloud sync, advertising, or analytics and does not upload these records to ApplyAI servers.

Exports, Backups, and Imports

CoatLedger creates PDF, CSV, or text touch-up handoffs and a checksum-verified JSON backup only when you request them. Backups may include your paint label photos; touch-up handoffs exclude photo bytes and private internal fields. You choose where to share or save each file. An import is read only after you select it and is validated before local records are replaced.

Optional Feedback

If you submit in-app feedback, CoatLedger sends your message, optional email address, selected screenshots, app version, operating-system version, device model, locale, and App Attest security proof to the ApplyAI support service. We use this information only to answer support requests, investigate defects, prevent abuse, and improve the app. We do not sell it or use it for advertising.

Photos and Selected Screenshots

Paint label photos remain in CoatLedger's private local storage and are included only in a backup you deliberately share. CoatLedger can access only the images you explicitly select with Apple's system photo picker for a label or feedback report. Removing or cancelling a feedback draft asks the support service to delete uploaded screenshots, and unattached draft uploads are automatically removed after 24 hours.

Diagnostics and App Attest

CoatLedger includes no third-party analytics or advertising SDK. App Attest provides device and app integrity evidence for optional feedback submissions; it is used for abuse prevention, not cross-app tracking.

Retention and Deletion

Local paint records and photos remain until you delete them, use Clear All Local Data after two confirmations, or remove the app. Submitted feedback is retained only as reasonably needed to respond, investigate defects, prevent abuse, and meet legal obligations.

Permissions

The core paint-record workflow requires no camera, contacts, location, microphone, notification, or tracking permission. Apple's system photo picker appears only when you choose a label photo or attach a feedback screenshot.

Children

CoatLedger is a general-audience home and trade utility and is not directed to children. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children.

Policy Changes

We may update this policy when CoatLedger or its data practices change. The current version will remain available on this page with a revised update date.
